Program goal
The aim of the program is to educate professionals who are learned in economics, social sciences, management sciences and methodology and have the ability in the field of tourism to carry out independent and comprehensive planning, management and coordination of tourism enterprises at local, regional, national, and international levels in the state, for-profit as well as non-profit sector.

Career opportunities: according to the forecasts of UNWTO and WTTC, the global tourism industry is expected to grow and diversify in the following decades; this also increases the need for qualified labor all around the world, especially at managerial level, since strategic planning and development will play a crucial role in destinations’ and companies’ competitiveness in the dynamically changing market.

Considering the number of inhabitants Yekaterinburg today is the fourth city in Russia after Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk. Yekaterinburg is the administrative center of the Sverdlovsk region and big transportation and logistics hub.
Yekaterinburg is the big industrial center famous for its mechanical industry, heavy engineering, metallurgy, printing industry, light and food industry, military and industrial complex.
Yekaterinburg is the main administrative, cultural and scientific center of the Ural region and it is called “The capital of the Urals”. Modern Yekaterinburg is one of the most attractive cities for conducting business in Russia.
The city is situated on the east slope of the Ural Mountains on the bank of the river Iset. The history of the city started in the 18th century. Yekaterinburg was founded in the year 1723 on the Dam which was built for the plant construction. In the city center you can see the monument devoted to its founders Tatischev and De Gennin.
The city is situated on the border of Europe and Asia. The Ural Mountains separate two parts of the world. Not far from the city the obelisk notifies the spot where the border is supposed to be.
What about the sites of Yekaterinburg? Actually, it will take more than one day to explore them all. It is very fascinating to stroll around the center of the city which is also called the History square. Following along the river you can come across the monument to the keyboard, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, the invisible man and the monument to the system unit. The street art is also something that makes our city special. There are even the guided tours which include the street art objects. You can also take self-tour that is call “The Red Line”. It goes through the city center and is marked by the red line you can easily follow. With the help of your gadgets you can listen to the description of all monuments and sites on your way.
Yekaterinburg is also a big trade center where a lot of the trade and entertainment malls are concentrated. There are about 23 of them.
Yekaterinburg gave the country a lot of celebrities. Here Boris Yeltsin the first President of Russia was born. The name of Russia’s first Emperor is also connected with Yekaterinburg.
The most northern skyscraper in the world was built in Yekaterinburg. It is called Vysotskyi and it has 54 floors. On the top of it there is the viewpoint from where you can see the whole city at a glance.
The sport life of the city is also active. Our city is going to host several matches of the UEFA World Championship in 2018.

*Inter-regional non-profit organization - Ural Tourism Association established as a public association for the purpose of protecting the rights and represent the interests of UAT in the Russian government bodies and international organizations and to coordinate their activities.
Ural Tourism Association (UAT) was founded in 1996. UAT has more than 60 participants. As part of the Association are the largest tour operators, travel agency networks , airlines, universities , insurance companies, hotels and resorts .
Among the objectives of the Association - to provide guidance to the participants of the tourist activity in the Urals region , the organization of seminars and conferences on tourism, the generalization of the practice of application of regulations concerning the scope of interests of members of the tourist industry; development and promotion of the legislative bodies of proposals and recommendations for the development of tourism , the relationship with tourist associations and organizations in other parts of the country and abroad .
Social organization of tourism, bringing together interested commercial and public structures to create a civilized tourist market in the Urals region, the development of tourism and hospitality.
